Andrew Whyment

Andrew is a Theatre Director that stages new writing, devised work and adaptations.

He is Artistic Director of award-winning theatre company, Squint, a graduate of the Birkbeck Theatre Directing MFA, an Associate of the National Youth Theatre and formerly Resident Assistant Director at Leeds Playhouse.

He is based in London but has worked across the UK and abroad in countries including China, Croatia, Saudi Arabia and the USA.

He has worked with companies including the National Theatre, Headlong, The PappyShow and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

He is an experienced Facilitator of education and participation projects. He has trained young people at the National Youth Theatre, worked in refugee camps with Good Chance Theatre and taught in prisons with Synergy Theatre Project.

He has developed new work with writers including Brad Birch, Chris Bush, Elinor Cook, Tim Crouch, James Fritz, Jamila Gavin, Rob Hayes, Yolanda Mercy, Owen Sheers and Alexandra Wood.

His process is influenced by the practices of Mike Alfreds, Anne Bogart, Jacques Lecoq, John McGrath and Thomas Ostermeier.

He is an Acting Coach with experience in a range of settings from fashion shows to film sets. He is a tutor for The Mono Box and Open Door and coaches prospective students for auditions.

Project on the Bus are so very pleased to be a recipient of a Research & Development Grant by Join the Docks Autumn Programme 2020.

Join the Docks this autumn with a stellar programme of free activities and performances celebrating the unique people and places that make up the Royal Docks. From music and theatre to poetry and art, there is an exciting line-up of local as well as London based performers and artists to keep you entertained as the nights draw in - whatever your age. This year, Join the Docks has been re-imaged to enable audiences to participate safely. Many events will be streamed online, so wherever you are - you can Join the Docks and fully immerse yourself in all that the area has to offer.
